Nancy Ann Mills, 84

Nancy Ann Mills, lovingly known to just about everyone as Nanner, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2025, surrounded by her family. Born on July 2, 1941, at Bishop Hospital in Almont, Michigan, Nanner grew up and spent her life in the close-knit community she cherished so deeply, an Almont High School graduate of the class of 1959.
To know Nanner was to love her. She had a gift for making connections with anyone she met and for making anyone laugh. With her sharp wit, quick comebacks, and infectious smile, she could light up any room she walked into.
She enjoyed life to the fullest by traveling with friends and family, bowling, going for motorcycle rides with friends, baking something sweet for the people she loved, and spending evenings lost in a good novel or watching her favorite Westerns, soap operas, and Detroit sports teams.
Nanner was a longtime member of the Imlay City Eagles and a beloved fixture in her community. She never met a stranger; if you were from Almont, chances are she already knew you.
She is survived by her beloved children, Julie (Chris) Wilson of Mayville and Jamie (Andy) Duke of Attica; her cherished granddaughter, Hunter Rose Wilson of South Royalton, Vermont; her devoted sisters Cathy (Alan) Bruyneel of Berville, Pat (Bob) Jessop of Bruce Township, and Wendy Vermeesch (Jay McGuire) of Oscoda; her special friend, John Hahn of Attica; her nieces and nephews Corey (Kirk) Maxey, Bill Bruyneel, Mike (Shelley) Vermeesch, Melissa (Tim) Fye, Justin Jessop, Jared (Kristi) Jessop; and many great-nieces and nephews.
Nanner was the heart of our family. She kept us all laughing, connected, and having fun. Her absence leaves a hole that can never be filled, but her love, humor, and warmth will live on in all of us.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at Castle Creek Golf Club (5191 Lum Road, Attica, MI 48412) on October 26, 2025 starting at 12 noon with a Memorial Service at 1:00 p.m., and a meal to be served at 2:00 p.m.
Memorial donations can be made in Nancy’s name to Aspire Hospice.
