Nancy DeVriendt, age 85, formerly of Dryden, Michigan died Saturday, July 18, 2026 at United Hospice Service of Marlette. Nancy Lou Fox was born November 25, 1940 in Kingston, MI. She was the daughter of the late Arthur Fox and Margaret (Wilcox) Fox. Nancy grew up in Kings Mill. She attended North Branch and Lapeer High Schools and was a graduate of Lapeer High School. Nancy continued her education at Mott Community College in Flint, MI. She married Arthur Rene DeVriendt in Detroit, MI on July 18, 1964 and they enjoyed 45 years of marriage together.
She worked at the Lapeer County Courthouse as a magistrate clerk for 20 years. Nancy also was an accountant for Almont Manufacturing Grey Iron Foundry in Imlay City for over 10 years. In her free time, she enjoyed shopping, walking and traveling with friends. One of her favorite trips was to Alaska. She loved her grandchildren. Nancy was in a RV camping group with her granddaughters Leah and Brooklyn.
Nancy is survived by her sons, Christopher (Natalee) DeVriendt of Otter Lake, MI, Michael (Jamie Gunn) DeVriendt of Imlay City, MI; brother, Ray Fox of Lapeer, MI; and her grandchildren, Joshua DeVriendt, Killian DeVriendt, Leah Viau, Brooklyn Mickail and Malia DeVriendt. Nancy was preceded in death by: her daughter Sheri DeVriendt, husband Arthur DeVriendt, and sister Lydia Fox.
The funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 28, 2026 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City, 225 N. Main Street, Imlay City, MI 48444. Reverend Ronald Rouse, pastor of Dryden Methodist Church, will be officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dryden, MI. The visitation for the family will be 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 28, 2026 and all others are invited to visit from 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. on Monday, July 27, 2026 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Imlay City.
