Almont 8U places second at tourney

ALMONT — The Almont 8U baseball squad obtained a second-place finish at the CYBL Tournament in Capac this past week.

Almont got their successful tournament run underway Friday with a 10-0 win against Armada All-Stars Orange.

Saturday’s action saw them secure a 10-0 victory over Imlay City 8U All-Stars and a 16-15 triumph against Elba 8U All-Stars.

They then followed those outcomes up Sunday with an 18-1 win over Imlay City Blue and a 15-14 loss to Armada 8U Black, leaving them with a second to show for their efforts.

Easton Reynolds, Sawyer Morgan,  Owen Howard, Carson Ball, Trent Jackson, Dax Mergogey, Wyatt Laatz,  Finley Morgan, Preston Shkreli,  Heinrich Geiger, Lucas Little and Beckett Sosek helped make Almont’s second-place finish possible.  They were guided to that showing by head coach Adam Little along with assistant coaches Travis Jackson and Matt Mergogey. 

With their showing, Almont watches an 11-4 season draw to a close.
