Donna Jean Schonfeld, 93

Donna Jean Schonfeld, age 93, of Bay City,  Michigan died Thursday, July 16, 2026 at Carriage House of Bay City. Donna Jean Schultz was born October 12, 1932 in Imlay City, MI. She is the daughter of the late Fred and the late Viola (Werth) Schultz. Donna grew up in Imlay City, MI and was a graduate of Imlay City High School. She married Marvin Charles Schonfeld on July 23, 1951 in Angola, Indiana.

Donna was a stay at home mom but also worked outside the home as a bookkeeper at Dorothy 

Person’s Boutique for several years. Summer vacations were a big part of her life, especially spending time in Upper Michigan with family. She was a member of Bay City Eagles Club 1010, often enjoying the weekends dancing to the polka bands.

Surviving Donna are her daughters; Debra (Paul) Nichol and Lori (Mark) Gerard. Eight grandchildren; Chad (Suzette) Schmidt, Heather (Jack) Titus, Tiffany (Matt) Moyer, Ryan LaBrie, Christopher (Kristin) LaBrie, Matthew (Lori) LaBrie, Aaron (Jenna) Gerard, Courtney Gerard. Thirteen Great Grandchildren; Hayden, Collin, Nicholas, Emma, Landon, Reyna, MaKenna, Kyleigh, Cadince, Kendall, Ryker, Jason and Tyler. Her sister, Janet Schultz Black and brother-in-law, Keith Black, son-in-law, Dave Fakler, and family friend John Dwyer. Donna was preceded in death by; her husband, Marvin Schonfeld and daughter, Carol Schmidt. 

The family would like to thank the Carriage House staff and McLaren Hospice for their excellent care of Donna. According to Donna's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private burial will take place at Imlay City Cemetery. Those wishing to make a memorial contribution, may direct them to the American Cancer Society.
