Bryan Lee Nelson, 71

Bryan Lee Nelson, 71, passed away on July 5, 2026, at home with his family by his side. He leaves behind a lifetime of love, hard work, and cherished memories.

He was born November 15, 1954, in Lapeer to the late Carl and Neva Nelson.

On December 8, 1979, he married the love of his life, Diana Lomakoski, at Thornville Baptist Church in Thornville, Michigan. Together they built a loving home centered on family, faith, and lasting traditions.

A dedicated and hardworking man, Bryan was the owner and operator of Nelson Trucking for 37 years. He took great pride in his work and was known for his strong work ethic and willingness to lend a helping hand. Outside of work, he was a true "grease monkey" who found joy in restoring classic cars and bringing old vehicles back to life. He enjoyed playing billiards and created his own "Pool School" for his grandchildren and enjoyed attending their sporting events, sharing not only the game but also laughter, patience, and life lessons. He also loved golfing and spending time enjoying outdoor sports.

Above all else, Bryan was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. His greatest happiness came from being surrounded by the people he loved.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Diana Nelson; his children, Pete (Denise) Stryker, Tara (Scott Wranosky) Stryker, and Carl (Britta) Nelson; his grandchildren, Tyler (Leah Dawson) Stryker, Samantha (Chance) Green, A.J. Antonelli, and Skylar (Joey Savel) Stryker; his great-grandson, Dakota Green; and his great-granddaughter, Millie Green, who is expected to arrive in December. He is also survived by many loving family members and dear friends who will forever treasure his memory.

His legacy of love, hard work, generosity, and devotion to family will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

The family honors the memory of Bryan and invites you to visit and share memories Friday, July 17, 2026, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Jansen Family Funeral Home, Capac. Funeral services will be Saturday, July 18, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. with 11:00 a.m. visiting. Burial will be in West Berlin Cemetery.
