Edge 12U claims tournament title

The Edge 12U softball squad won the Beach Bash Tournament in Holland recently. TRI-CITY AREA — The Edge 12U softball squad went 7-0,  paving the way to a first-place finish at the 15-team USSSA Beach Bash Tournament in Holland recently.

The squad started things off Friday, July 10 with an 8-2 win against Detroit Prospects Palo/Peiffer 12U and a 9-3 victory over Tri-Valley Twisters 12U.

They then posted a 10-4 triumph against Michigan Rebels Peters 12U and a  13-4 win over Cards Fastpitch 12U on Saturday, July 11.

Edge 12U followed it up Sunday, July 12 with an 8-1 victory against Hitting Center Legacy Grimsley 12U;  a 10-6 triumph over   GR Diamonds 12U VanLangen; and a 6-5 win against Elite 12U Bertoia (rallying from a 5-0 deficit to prevail on a walkoff in the sixth inning).
Ashlyn Schoen (Almont), Kara Branson (Waterford), Clare Marshall (Goodrich), Riley Phillips (Oakland Township), Nevada Eads (Imlay City), Breann Syts (Almont), Mila Mathie (Oxford), Reese Rapp (Shelby Township), Adelaide Rivard (Oxford), Tess Nowacki (Oxford) formed Edge 12U’s first place squad.  They were coached by Jessica Branson, Tom Schoen and Brad Nowacki.
