Frances “Fran” Bannister, 95

Frances ‘Fran’ Bannister, age 95, of Imlay City, Michigan died Monday, July 28, 2025 at Wellbridge of Romeo, Michigan. Fran was born February 14, 1930 in Detroit, MI. She is the daughter of the late Julius and the late Eleanor (Brackevelt) Dheygere. She married Morris Charles ‘Buck’ Bannister on September 3, 1949 in Armada, Michigan. Fran and Buck moved to the Imlay City area and have lived in the area for over 20 years. Buck passed away on December 25, 2016.
Fran grew up in Armada, Michigan. She was a graduate of Armada High School, class of 1948. She worked in the medical field most of her career. She was a Medical Transcriptionist and billing clerk for Dr. Merle ‘Ben’ Haney in both Almont and Imlay City for over 20 years. She loved traveling with her husband, Buck, for over 10 years throughout the United States, also taking road trips anywhere and her annual trip to Disney World. She loved watching her grandchildren and nieces and nephews play all sports (especially baseball). Fran was a true Proverbs 31 woman.
Fran is survived by her sons: David (Lina) Bannister of Metamora, MI; Mark (Jeanne) Bannister of Attica/Lum, MI and a sister, Delores Heim of Imlay City, MI; grandchildren: Carla Johnston, Erik (Letti) Bannister, Jason Bannister, Aaron (April) Bannister, Cory (Matt) Corneau, Brian (Christina) Bannister, Wyatt (Alicia) Bannister, Reid Bannister; great-grandchildren: Taylor, Macenzie, Brent, Brody, Blake, Madelyn; nieces: Kim (Randy) Jorgensen, Lori (Tom) Campbell; great-niece and
great-nephews: Keil, Nick (Melissa), and Alissa.
Fran is preceded in death by: her husband, Buck Bannister; son, Brent Bannister; daughter, Denise Middaugh; and brothers, Cyriel Dheygere and an infant brother.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Sunday, August 3, 2025 at Castle Creek Golf Club, 5191 Lum Road, Lum, Michigan.
The family will be available for visiting beginning 12 noon, the Celebration will start at about 1:00 p.m. to be followed by a luncheon at 2:00 p.m.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City, 225 N. Main Street, Imlay City, MI.
