Carleen Bingham, 81

Carleen Bingham, 81, of Sharpsburg, GA, formerly of Imlay City, MI, went to be with her heavenly father on February 22, 2025.

She was born on March 9, 1943, in Hermondale, Missouri, to the late Lee Artamerus Bingham and Mary Virginia Crockett. She grew up on the family farm where she helped and loved to run barefoot in the fields. She moved to Michigan at the age of 17 and worked many jobs to support herself and her daughter, eventually retiring from Romeo Rim.

Carleen was a simple woman who loved her family. She loved doing her crossword puzzles and enjoyed many shopping trips with her daughter and her sister. She had a green thumb where she loved taking care of her house plants. She would look forward to the return of the hummingbirds every year. She found pleasure in finding new recipes and shopping for the ingredients and then making them for family. She was also known to paint in her younger years. Carleen came to live with her daughter, Debra and family in Georgia in 2022, where she continued doing the things she loved.

Carleen was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Lee (Dora) Bingham and Andrew Hopper, sisters, Nellie Vergeldt, Mary Louise Inman, Geneva Joyce Jones. She is survived by her sister, Norma Jean Lahr of Allenton, MI and brother, Arthur (Jean) Bingham of Twin Lakes, MI, children, Debra Fay (Greg) Gwyn of Sharpsburg, GA and Kay Sweet, grandchildren, Taylor Allen Gwyn of Sharpsburg, GA, Gregory (Lacey) Gwyn II of McDonough, GA and Dereck Sweet, great-grandchildren, Lilley Kate, Vada and Greyson Gwyn of McDonough, GA and many nieces and nephews.

Special thanks to her health care team of Georgia Hospice Care of Newnan, GA.
