Thomas “Tom” Lupo, 81

Thomas “Tom” Lupo, age 81, of Imlay City, MI, died Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at McLaren Flint Region Medical Center. Thomas James Lupo was born December 2, 1943 in Detroit, MI. He is the son of the late Thomas and the late Annette Lupo. Tom grew up in Clawson, MI. He was a graduate of Clawson High School, Class of 1962. He married Mary Jane “Janie” Ferguson on March 26, 1971 in Troy, Michigan.
He was employed as a lineman by AT & T (formerly Bell Telephone) for 30+ years before retiring.
Tom was very active in the Almont and Imlay City Lions Clubs and held various positions through the years: President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Zone Chairman. He was also very engaged in the community: an Imlay City Community School Board Member, Attica Township Volunteer Firefighter, and the Attica Township Supervisor for 12+ years. Tom was also a Property Tax Assessor for Burnside and Flynn Townships since 1995. When his children were younger, he was a Little League Baseball Coach and started the AYSO (American Youth Soccer Organization) in the Imlay City, MI area.
He is survived by: his wife, Janie Lupo of Imlay City, MI; sons, Matthew (Janice) Lupo of Murfreesboro, TN and Andrew (Jackie) Lupo of Romeo, MI; and his grandchildren, Dylan, Zoe, Mia, Grace, Colton and Everly. He is also survived by: his sisters-in-law, Cheryll Redel of Charlottesville, VA and Janette (Howard) Kramer of Davisburg, MI; brother-in-law, Jeffrey Ferguson of Madison Heights, MI; and many nieces and nephews.
Tom was preceded in death by: his parents, Thomas and Annette Lupo; sisters, Patricia Weidenhamer and Joan Bassett; and his sisters-in-law, Terry (Michael) Lane and Linda Ferguson.
The Funeral Service was held Saturday, January 4, 2025 at Goodland Community Church, 2008 N. Van Dyke, Imlay City, MI.
