Robert Novak, 83

Robert Novak, age 83, of Almont, Michigan died Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at his home in Almont, MI. Robert Thomas Novak was born January 13, 1943 in Detroit, MI. He is the son of the late Joseph and the late Mary (Lapitsky) Novak, Sr. Robert grew up in Warren, MI and was a graduate of East Detroit High School, Class of 1961. He went on to continue his education, earning an Associates and Bachelor’s degree in accounting. Robert married Arlene Frances March on October 3, 1964 in Warren, Michigan. He was preceded in death by Arlene on December 25, 2025.

He served in the Army during the Vietnam War from 1968-1970. Robert retired from General Dynamics in Sterling Heights, MI as a certified public accountant in 2002 after 30+ years.

Robert is survived by: his daughter, Elizabeth (Eric) Mularski of Northville, MI; son, Wayne (Phuong Do) Novak of Chaska, MN; his brother, Joseph Novak of Almont, MI; grandchildren, Kyle Mularski and Kirstyn Mularski; his great – grandchild, Robert Matthew Mularski-Chase; and several loved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by: his wife, Arlene Novak; sisters, MaryAnn (Richard) Stopczynski and Sharon (Charles) Charbeneau; his brothers, James (Bessie) Novak, Sr., Leonard (Marilyn) Novak, and Gerald Novak; sister -in-law, Sylvia Novak; and infant brother, Thomas Novak.

The funeral services were held 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 22, 2026 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City, 225 N. Main Street, Imlay City, MI 48444. Deacon Joe Hulway officiated.
