Times selects All-Area golf team

TRI-CITY AREA — Week in and week out their play out on the course set the standard for excellence. 

Here is a look at who earned a spot on the 2026 edition of The Tri-City Times All-Area boys’ golf squad and the numbers they posted en route:

Gianni Coscione, Dryden.

Coscione provided a 42.6 average over nine holes this spring. That ranked him  first on  the squad and out of those who attained Tri-City Times All-Area first team status.

This was his third year on Dryden’s team.

The junior wrapped up the season as an All-Big Thumb Conference Black Division first team selection.

Spencer Kent, Almont.

Kent averaged 43.2 per nine-hole round during the 2026 campaign.

That placed him first on the Almont squad and second among Tri-City Times All-Area first team honorees.

This was his second year on Almont’s team.

The junior finished the season as an All-Blue Water Area Conference first team choice.

Sam Schneider, Capac.

Schneider supplied a 43.6  average this spring.

That ranked him first on the Capac squad and third out of those who attained Tri-City Times All-Area first team status.

This was his third year on Capac’s team.

The senior completed the season as an All-Big Thumb Conference Black Division first team pick.

Adam Schaefer, Capac.

Schaefer averaged 44.4 per nine-hole round during the 2026 campaign.

That placed him second  on the Capac squad and fourth among Tri-City Times All-Area first team honorees.

This was his fourth year on Capac’s  team.

Schaefer concluded the season as an All-Big Thumb Conference Black Division second team selection.

Luca Longo, Capac.

Longo managed a  44.7 average this spring.

That ranked him third on the Capac squad and tied for fifth out of those who attained Tri-City Times All-Area first team status.

This was his fourth year on Capac’s team.

He wrapped up the season as an All-Big Thumb Conference Black Division second team choice.

Kai Grabowski, Dryden.

Grabowski averaged 44.7 per nine-hole round during the 2026 campaign.

That placed him second on the Dryden squad and tied for fifth among Tri-City Times All-Area first team honorees.

This was the first  year for Grabowski, a sophomore, on Dryden’s squad.

Second team- Owen Furgerson, Imlay City; Hugh Camire, Capac; Hunter Richardson, Capac; Ben Priehs, Imlay City; Ty Wagester, Imlay City; Hayden Blair, Dryden; Shepherd Moussiaux, Almont; Trent Whiting, Imlay City; and Sam Prescott, Imlay City.

Honorable mention- Jon Michael, Almont; Blake Skoczlas, Almont; Jackson Allen, Imlay City; Preston Ramirez, Imlay City; and Derek Wetzel, Almont.

Coach of the Year- For directing Capac to a  a third at the BTC Black Division Tournament and a Division 4 regional as well as an 18th-place showing at the Div. 4 state finals, Tim Muldoon earns Tri-City Times All-Area Coach of the Year accolades.
