Michael “Mal” Malczewski, age 80, of Attica, Michigan died Wednesday, June 17, 2026 at Corewell Health Troy Campus of Troy, MI.  Michael Peter Malczewski was born May 6, 1946 in Royal Oak, MI. He is the youngest son of the late Alexander and the late Mary (Sockacs) Malczewski. Michael grew up in Utica, MI. He was a graduate of Utica High School, Class of 1964. Michael attended Lawrence Tech University.  He married the love of his life, Diane Kozlowski on October 14, 1967 in Warren, Michigan.

He had a successful engineering career through many job shops. In 1979, Michael partnered with Dave Naples to own & operate Pure Gold, Inc. Engineering, doing business with some of the biggest names in the industry and employing over 60 employees for 25 years. Michael continued his career for Orchard Design in Metamora for 15 years, double checking CAD CAM designs.

Michael loved to spend time with family. He enjoyed gardening, growing cactus, music, hunting, fishing and wood working. Michael leaves many happy memories behind with those he loved.

He is survived by: his wife of 59 years, Diane Malczewski of Attica, MI; daughters, Jessica Daversa of Lapeer, MI and Raelene Malczewski of Flint, MI; his grandchildren, Michael Daversa, Nicholas Daversa and Travis (Laken) Mantel; and recently,  great-granddaughter, Odelia Mantel.

Michael was preceded in death by: his beloved daughter, Deanna Mantel; son-in-law, Tony Daversa; and his brother, Ronald Malczewski.

The funeral will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City, 225 N. Main Street, Imlay City, MI.  Rev. Fr. Mike Gawlowski, pastor of St. John the Evangelist in Allenton, MI, will officiate.  Burial of cremated remains will follow at Attica Township Cemetery.

The family will be available for visitation 2-5 and 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, June 30 and 10-11 a.m., Wednesday, July 1 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City.
