Maxwell Tennyson Muir, 90

Maxwell Tennyson Muir, 90, husband of the late Nora Levonda Bramlett Muir, died Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence, SC.

Born November 29, 1935, in Almont Michigan, he was a son of the late Thomas Lee Muir, Sr. and the late Harriett Evangeline Wilson Muir. He retired from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years of service and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He also retired as a rural mail carrier in the Manning and Alcolu areas, and from Crescent Xcelite.

Survivors include two sons, Christopher Muir (Nicky) of Manning and Mike Muir (Karon) of Hartsville; two grandchildren, Andrew Muir (Elisabeth) and Brian Muir (Casey); two great-grandchildren, Bradley Muir and Dillon Muir; and two brothers, Thomas Muir and Robert Muir.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by seven siblings, Margaret, Winnie, Rachael, Mary Jane, George, Richard, and Jim.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 5 p.m. Thursday, May 28, 2026, at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home followed by the rendering of military honors.
