Douglas McMahon, 83

Douglas McMahon, age 83, of Attica, Michigan died Monday, November 24, 2025 at McLaren Lapeer Region Hospital. Douglas Colin McMahon was born February 21, 1942 in Detroit, MI. He is the son of the late Daniel and the late Marie (Robinson) McMahon. Douglas grew up in Detroit, MI and was a graduate of Madison Heights High School, Class of 1961. He married Sherry Keil on September 18, 2010 in Lapeer, Michigan and they have lived in the Attica area since.
He served in the Marine Corps from 1961 to 1965 and the Air Force from 1966 to 1974 during the Vietnam War. While in the service, Douglas was a heavy equipment mechanic. He traveled and lived all over the country while stationed at different military bases. Later in life, Douglas worked as an auto mechanic at Goodyear in Lapeer, MI and was also the head of maintenance at Almont Vineyard Church in Almont, MI.
Douglas is survived by: his wife, Sherry McMahon of Attica, MI; daughters, Gina Marie (McMahon) Sullivan of Weatherford, OK, Sarah Gibson Hitt of Atlanta, GA, Sandra Jean (McMahon) Jones of Sacramento, CA, Sherri Lynn McMahon of Sacramento, CA, and Stacy Mergan of Carson City, NV; his son Troy Douglas McMahon of Folsom, CA; stepdaughter, Rebecca (Andrew) Edenburn; and his stepson, Daniel (Lisa) Badalamente.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Daniel and Marie McMahon; and 9 brothers and sisters.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at North Goodland Baptist Church, 3080 N. Van Dyke Road, Imlay City, MI with Pastor John Chippewa officiating. Interment of Douglas’ cremated remains will take place 11 a.m., Thursday, December 11th at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Rd, Holly, MI 48442.
The family will be available for visitation 10-11 a.m., Wednesday, December 10th at North Goodland Baptist Church.
