Margaret Hable, 99

Margaret Hable, age 99, of Attica, Michigan died Sunday, February 23, 2025 at Lapeer County Medical Care Facility (Suncrest). Margaret McKenzie Reid was born September 30, 1925 in Detroit, MI. She is the daughter of the late Walter and the late Mary Ann (Ferguson) Reid. Margaret was a graduate of Lincoln High School in Detroit.

She married Willis Hable on June 29, 1946 in Detroit, Michigan. Margaret and Willis lived in Lake Orion, MI for 23 years before moving to Attica, MI in 1978. She was preceded in death by Willis on October 18, 2002.

As a youth, Margaret worked at Packard Plant in Detroit, MI. Later in life, she was employed as a receptionist for a doctor’s office in Oxford, MI. Margaret was a member of Trinity Methodist Church in Lapeer, MI. Her family raised bees and everyone enjoyed helping extract honey during the harvest season.

Margaret is survived by: her daughter, Trudi Hable of Rochester, MI; sons, Martin (Teresa) Hable of Lapeer, MI, Rev. Gary (Marie) Hable of Wasilla, Alaska and Murray (Lynn) Hable of Attica, MI; 13 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: her husband, Willis; parents, Walter and Mary Ann Reid; and her brothers, William Reid, Matthew Reid, and Jack Reid.

A memorial service for Margaret will be held 12 noon, Thursday, April 3, 2025 at Trinity Methodist Church, 1310 N. Main Street, Lapeer, Michigan 48446. Rev. Grant Lobb and Rev. Gary Hable will officiate.

The family will be available for visitation 10 a.m. – 12 noon, Thursday, April 3rd at Trinity Methodist Church. Interment has taken place at Attica Township Cemetery in Attica, MI.
