Tina Marie Slover, 81

Tina Marie Slover, age 81 of Washington Township (formerly of Dryden/Almont) passed away peacefully Monday, February 24, 2025. She was born December 4, 1943 the daughter of Peter and Vera Dubovenko in Yale. After graduating from Almont High School in 1963, Tina attended Detroit Business Institute and received her Associates Degree.

Tina is survived by her loving daughters: Vicki (Jason) Revoldt of Almont and Penny (Nicholas) Samp of Almont and by her grandchildren: Zachary Revoldt (Camryn Derkatz), Hannah Revoldt, Lilly Samp and Grady Samp. She is also survived by her siblings: Jane Rice of Arizona, Louise Mosack of New York, and Peter Dubovenko, Jr. of Florida. In addition, she will be missed by many nieces and nephews, as well as her former husband James Slover. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Alex Dubovenko, and her sister Nadya Kaufman.

Tina was a great mother who loved her two daughters, as they did her. There was nothing she wouldn’t do for them and was very proud of both of them. There was not a single aspect of their lives that Tina was not present and positively contributing to– including all through their school years, college years, and when the girls had families of their own.

Tina loved spending time with her grandchildren. When her grandchildren were young, she would often take them to local festivals and to the movie theater. As they got older, she was always their number one supporter in all aspects of life. Tina especially enjoyed the various outings where the whole family was together, including the many family trips to Kentucky, Florida and Tennessee.

In her free time, Tina enjoyed reading, dancing and shopping. She especially liked shopping with her two granddaughters, Hannah and Lilly. Tina was an amazing cook and liked making perogies and stuffed cabbage. She also had a real sweet tooth and enjoyed her chocolate candies. When Tina was not on an outing or shopping, she was most likely at home spoiling her cat, Gigi.

Tina was always kind, happy and had a positive outlook on life. There were very few people who knew her and didn’t get along with her. Tina was a very hard worker and took on great family responsibility, starting at only 14 years old. She and her former husband owned and operated the Almont Movie Theatre for 20 years. Tina was an active community member and especially looked forward to hosting a free kids Christmas movie every year where she partnered with local nonprofits to provide free popcorn, pop and prize giveaways for all the local kids. Tina and her former husband also owned and operated the local Almont Laundromat and South End Video until there was a devastating fire in May of 2005. In addition to being a business owner, Tina worked for many years in the insurance industry as well as in property management. She especially enjoyed her over 20 years managing for The Fourmidable Group. In addition to liking the work, she made many long lasting friendships.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Muir Funeral Home & Celebration of Life Center at 2650 S. Van Dyke, Imlay City, MI 48444.

The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Ferguson Cemetery, 4471 Kidder Rd., Almont, MI 48003.
