Ronald Eugene Smith, 74

Ronald Eugene Smith, age 74, of Attica, Michigan died Thursday, February 20, 2025 at Lapeer County Medical Care Facility (Suncrest) of Lapeer, MI. Ron was born October 14, 1950 in Charleston, West Virginia. He is the son of the late Gerald and the late Emma (Williams) Smith. Ron grew up in West Virginia and graduated from the Buffalo High School in Putnam County, West Virginia. He married Sandra Ann Miller on March 30, 1985 in Royal Oak, Michigan. Sandra died on June 25, 2012.

Ron was an Assembly Line worker for over 30 years at the Dodge Main Plant in Hamtramck and retired from the Dodge Truck Plant on Mound Rd. in Warren. Ron and Sandra moved to Imlay City from Warren in 1987. About ten years ago, Ron moved to Cornelius, North Carolina to be closer to his step-daughter, Christina. After Christina’s death in March 2024, he moved back to Attica, Michigan.

Ron is survived by his step-sons: David (Sharon) Gibson of Dayton Township, Tennessee and Donald (Susan Peters) Gibson of Attica, Michigan; grandchildren: Olivia, Henry, Brayden, Joslyn, and Andrew. Also surviving are siblings: John Smith, Jimmy Smith, T.J. Smith, Bob Thornton and Debbie Hall.

He was preceded in death by: his wife, Sandra Ann Smith in 2012; daughter Christina Lynn Gibson in 2024; and a brother Jerry Smith.

A Celebration of Life will be planned for a later date.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City, 225 N. Main Street, Imlay City, MI.
