Mary Osborn, 88

Mary Osborn, 88 of Brown City passed away peacefully in her sleep in her home Friday, January 24, 2025. Mary Elizabeth Ginn was born February 20,1936 to Francis and Laurina (Girrard) Ginn in Berkley, MI. The family moved to Capac in 1942 where she eventually met the love of her life, Richard Osborn. They married March 27, 1954. Raising five children while managing and operating the M-21 Cafe in Capac, working in a factory, moving to Brown City to a neighborhood with the best neighbors anyone could ask for, working as a seamstress at the Capac Styling Center. Moved north to Kalkaska then further north to Newberry in the U.P. Owned and operated the Airport Bar, restaurant and motels, where she was famous for her burgers, chili and Navajo tacos; pouring drinks and cleaning rooms for 20 plus years.

Finally moving back to Brown City where she was active in the Red Hats, the Gadabouts, going to the gym doing coreball three times a week. She was such a vibrant lady, always busy. And she loved to dance, going to Lexington for concerts in the park, enjoying her flowers, loving her family, cooking the best Sunday dinners and outstanding pies. She loved life, her family and her church, where she very seldom missed a Sunday Mass. She was fortunate to take some wonderful vacations and cruises with family and friends in her golden years.

She is survived by her children Michele (Elton) Schocke, Mike Osborn, Steve (Debra) Osborn, Cathy (Doug) Thomas and Greg Osborn. Grandchildren Kerry (Kim) Schocke, Jim (Becky) Schocke, Tina Osborn, Tony Osborn, Stephan (Katie) Osborn and Mary (Renee) Kiesling. Greatgrandchildren Brandon (Danielle) Schoonover, Hanna (Larry) Tallman, Grace Osborn, Francheska Martin, Avery, Amiah, Alexa, Leo and Autumn Osborn. Greatgreatgrandchildren Kyleigh, Jozlynn and
Olivia Schoonover and Molly Tallman. Sisters Laurina (Howard) Cline, Shirley (Otto) Birgy, and Threasa Lis. Sisters-in-law Sherron, Evelyn and Sandy Ginn and Ila Miller. Many nieces and nephews.

She was proceeded in death by her husband of 61years Richard, brothers Bob, Bill and Paul Ginn, sisters and brothers-in-law Barb (Morris) Smith, Max Miller and MaryAnn (Bob) Jackson.

A memorial mass is scheduled for March 22, 2025 at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church 7090 Cade Rd., Brown City.
