Sally Cornell, 82

Sally Cornell, 82, passed away January 23, 2025. Beloved wife of the late John T. Loving mother of John J. Cherished sister of the late Cynthia Belli, Christina (Michael) Locricchio, Barbara (Frank) Pirrello, Sandra (Michael) Kirk and Dr. Karen (Dr. Matthias) Kirsch. Survived by many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Sally was a devoted wife to her husband John, especially in the final years of his life. She was always a fashionable dresser. She worked at an exclusive boutique “on the hill” in Grosse Pointe called La Strega Boutique where she helped dress many of the women in the area. She later continued her career in sales in advertising with the Tri-City Times and Woods-N-Water News.

She was a wonderful sister who always remembered her younger sisters. They treasured their bus trips that Sally took them on where they would go downtown to Hudson’s. She bought them special Christmas gifts and made the best Easter baskets. She was a wonderful cook (her cookies were amazing).

Her Catholic faith was especially important to her. She attended St. Mary’s in Armada later in life where she was very active. She is deeply loved and will be missed by all.

Visitation Wednesday 3-8 p.m. with a 7 p.m. Rosary service at Wujek-Calcaterra & Sons 54880 Van Dyke Ave at 25 Mile Rd. (Shelby Twp.)

Instate 10 a.m. Thursday until the 10:30 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. Mary Mystical Rose Parish, 24040 Armada Ridge Rd, Armada.
