Gladys Dean, 74

Gladys Dean, age 74, of Imlay City, Michigan, died Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at her home in Imlay City. Gladys Elaine Yax was born October 28, 1950 in Lapeer, MI. She is the daughter of the late Russell and the late Cleo (Swoish) Yax. Gladys grew up and lived her entire life in the Imlay City, MI area. She is a graduate of Imlay City High School, Class of 1968. She married Ronald Dean. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald, in April 2020.

She was employed as a Medical Assistant at Family First Healtcare for Dr. Conrad & Dr. DeCarlo for the past 35 years.

Gladys was a Detroit Tiger’s fan. She enjoyed going on casino trips, gardening, and spending time with her special friend, Sarah Lattimer.

She is survived by: her daughters: Wendy (Jessica Sebesta) Graham of Needville, TX and Amy (Paul Bowker) Potvin of Clarkston, MI; step sons, Joseph (Melissa) Dean of Wapakoneta, OH and Jeffrey Dean of Wapakoneta, OH; her sister, Gloria (Gary Pringle) Walker of DeFord, MI; and brothers, Don (Joyce) Yax of Brown City, MI and Walt (Cindy) Yax of West Olive, MI. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Lucas, Christopher, Paige, Xandrea, Derick, Darin, Preston, Jada and Jillian.

Gladys was preceded in death by: her husband, Ronald Dean; parents, Russell and Cleo Yax; and her sister, Georgia Hemrick.

The Funeral Service was held 6:00 p.m., Monday, January 27, 2025 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City, 225 N. Main Street, Imlay City, MI. Wes Davis officiated.

Arrangements were entrusted to Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City.
