Ronald ‘Ron’ Gabbard, 62

Ronald ‘Ron’ Gabbard, age 62, of Flint, Michigan, died Thursday, December 12, 2024 at Villages of Lapeer. Ronald William Gabbard was born November 2, 1962 in Lapeer, MI. He is the son of the late John and Sarah (Sokolik) Gabbard. Ron grew up in the Imlay City, MI area. He attended Imlay City High School. While in high school, he played softball and baseball. Ron has lived in Flint, MI for the past 20 years.

He was employed as a truck driver by Jerry’s Tire in Flint, MI for 10+ years. Ron was a big NASCAR fan and he enjoyed playing cards. When he was younger, he liked playing softball, baseball, football, and rollerblading.

He is survived by: his mother, Sarah Gabbard of Imlay City, MI; brothers, Donald (Lori) Gabbard of Lynnville, TN and Thomas (Jessica) Gabbard of Imlay City, MI; and his sister-in-law, Juli Gabbard of Dryden, MI. Also surviving Ron are his nieces and nephews, Bud, Mitchell, Carrie, Victoria, Diana, Danielle; and great-niece and nephews, Madison, Trenton and Ronin.

Ron was preceded in death by: his father, John Gabbard; and brother, John ‘Junior’ Gabbard.

A memorial service is being planned for spring of 2025.
