Mary Jett, 89

Mary Jett, age 89, of Attica, Michigan, died Thursday, September 12, 2024 at Lapeer County Medical Care Facility (Suncrest) in Lapeer, MI. Mary May Zielinsky was born May 20, 1935 in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. She is the daughter of the late Adam and the late Theresa (Okatch) Zielinsky. Mary grew up in Detroit, MI. She is a graduate of North Eastern High School in Detroit, MI, Class of 1954. Mary married Carl Jett on August 1, 1957 in Highland Park, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl, on October 10, 2012. Mary has lived in the Attica, MI area for 30+ years.

She was employed in Customer Service by Kmart in Lapeer. While Mary lived in Highland Park, MI, she was a waitress and owned and operated a restaurant in Highland Park for 10 years. Mary went to cosmetology school.

Mary was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at the First Baptist Church of Attica. She enjoyed playing Bingo, making jewelry, quilting, arts & crafts and truly enjoyed putting jigsaw puzzles together. Mary loved animals and rescuing dogs.

She is survived by: her daughter, Cheryl Monday of Crofton, KY; son, Allen (Tannia) Jett of Taylor, MI; and her grandchildren, Carl T. Jett, II, Jessica N. Jett, Matthew Monday, Justin Monday and Karla Monday.

Mary was preceded in death by: her husband, Carl Jett; parents, Adam and Theresa Zielinsky; her sisters, Victoria Lengeman, Bridgette Morris, Virginia Suski and Pearl Hudgens; and her brothers, Stanley Zielinsky, Joe Zielinsky and Adam Zielinsky.

Arrangements for Mary’s cremation were entrusted to Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City, 225 N. Main Street, Imlay City, MI.
