William Conner, 82

William Conner, age 82, of Imlay City, MI, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at his home. William Douglas Conner was born March 25, 1942m in Lum, MI. He is the son of the late Harmon and the late Annabell (Schwerin) Conner. William grew up in the Lum and North Branch, MI areas. He attended North Branch High School. William married Judith “Judy” Roberts on October 27, 1962m in Lapeer, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy, on September 14, 2015.

He was employed as a Parts Train Driver for General Motors Truck & Bus Assembly for 30 years before retiring in 1995. William enjoyed fishing, hunting deer, playing guitar, and working on cars (especially his 1949 Dodge Truck and 1974 Dodge Dart Swinger). He would tinker with almost anything, including computers.

He is survived by his daughters, Jennifer (Andy) Fyke of Imlay City, MI and Sheri (Timothy) Sample of Alger, MI; sons, William (Missy) Conner, Jr. of North Branch, MI and Frank Conner of Brown City, MI; his 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He was also survived by his sister, Marie (Tom) Knaggs of Lapeer, MI; and brother, Bob (Karen) Conner of North Branch, MI.

William was preceded in death by his wife, Judith “Judy” Conner; parents, Harmon & Annabell Conner; his infant brother, Harmon Conner, Jr.; brother, James Conner; his sister, Diane Jones; sister-in-law, Cindy Conner; and his brother-in-law, Pete Hiltz.

The funeral was held Monday, July 8, 2024, at Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City, 225 N. Main Street, Imlay City, MI. Interment will follow at Arcadia Township Cemetery in Lum, MI.

Arrangements were entrusted to Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City.
