John “Rodney” Warner, 77

John “Rodney” Warner, age 77, of Imlay City, Michigan died Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at McLaren Lapeer Region Hospital. John Rodney Warner was born January 19, 1948 in Flint, MI. He is the son of the late Raymond and the late Agnes (Dayton) Warner. Rodney has lived in the Imlay City area since a very young age. He was a graduate of Imlay City High School, Class of 1966. Rodney married Gladys Elaine McLean.
He worked as a Transportation Inspector for the Michigan Department of Transportation. At a young age, Rodney worked at the Imlay City Foundry. He would also help out at the Pronto Mart from time to time when needed. Rodney was very involved within the Imlay City community. He was a past President of the Imlay City Alumni Association, served on the City Council and served as Mayor of Imlay City for several years, and Eastern Michigan State Fair Board. Rodney had attended Imlay City United Methodist Church and was a member of the Imlay City Free and Accepted Masons Lodge. He enjoyed carving wood and whittling in his spare time.
Rodney is survived by: his wife, Gladys Warner of Imlay City, MI; sons, John Warner of Millington, MI, Josh (Kim) Warner of Ann Arbor, MI and James (Brandy) Warner of Imlay City, MI. He is also survived by: his grandchildren, Darren, Felicia, Josh, John, Kali, and James.
Rodney was preceded in death by: his parents, Raymond and Agnes Warner; sister, Deanna Snoddy; and his brother, Ross Warner.
The funeral services were held on Monday, October 20, 2025 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City, 225 N. Main Street, Imlay City, MI, 48444. Pastor Gary Bird officiated.
A F&AM Masonic Service was held Sunday evening at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Local Masonic Lodge.
