Joyce Morocco, 92

Joyce Morocco, age 92, of Imlay City, Michigan passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday, August 22, 2025 at her home in Goodland Township. Joyce Marie Ferrett was born October 31, 1932 in Capac, MI. She is the daughter of the late Albert and the late Velma (Hollenbeck) Ferrett. Henry ‘Hank’ Morocco passed away on May 25, 2016. Joyce lived most all of her life in Goodland Township.

While her four boys (Don, John, Paul, and Joel) were growing up, she went back to school to study to become a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Joyce was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Imlay City. She participated in church as a Catechism teacher and part of the Altar Society at Sacred Heart.

Joyce was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and wonderful to all of her friends. Within minutes of meeting her, people would call her ‘grandma ‘or ‘Nana’; and she would never correct them. Joyce loved to be outside. She took pride in her flower beds and the brick patio that she made all-by-herself. Joyce loved to cook and bake with her grandchildren. She was a natural caregiver; having Joyce around warmed your heart. Joyce was the sweetest, most stubborn little lady that you have ever met.

She is survived by: her sons, Don Morocco of Lyons, GA, John Morocco of Imlay City, MI, Joel Morocco of Imlay City, MI and Paul (Belinda) Morocco of Imlay City, MI; brothers, Laverne (Joyce) Ferrett of Imlay City and Jim Ferrett of Rochester, MI; and her sisters, Kathy Burgess (Harold Campbell) of Lapeer, MI and Sharon Ferrett (Sam Pennisi) of Arcata, California.

There were many more members of her extended family, who she considered to be grandchildren, that she loved dearly.
