Charles “Chuck” Sorbie, 83

Charles “Chuck” Sorbie, age 83, recently of Imlay City, MI (formerly of Punta Gorda, Florida) died Monday, August 11, 2025 at Victoria’s Adult Foster Care of Metamora, MI. Charles Andrew Sorbie was born July 29, 1942 in Detroit, MI. He is the son of the late William and the late Ethel (Mann) Sorbie. Chuck grew up in Royal Oak, MI. He earned his GED from Dondero High School in Royal Oak, MI. Chuck married Marjorie Johnson on July 18, 1964. Chuck and Marjorie were married 60 loving years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie, in October, 2024.
He owned and operated the Country Carpet Warehouse in Dryden, MI for 20 years.
Chuck was a member of the Punta Gorda Moose Lodge.
He loved his family, friends, and never met a stranger he didn’t like. Chuck was a good husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle (a Kawasaki Vulcan), and country and classic rock and roll music. Chuck walked five miles each day.
Chuck is survived by; his daughter, Sheryl “Sheri” Sorbie of Imlay City, MI; grandchildren, Ben, Zach, Daniel, Leathan, Tristan, Josie and Cora; and his great – grandchild, Franki.
He was preceded in death by: his wife, Marjorie Sorbie; sons Charles Andrew Sorbie, Jr. and Daniel Forrest Sorbie; and brother, William Sorbie, II.
A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City, 225 N. Main Street, Imlay City, MI. A luncheon at Steve O’s will follow at 12 Noon.
The family will be available for visitation 10-11 a.m., Wednesday, August 20 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City.
