Sharon Marguerite Harvey, 86

Sharon Marguerite Harvey, 86, of Lapeer, passed away on June 19, 2025.

Sharon was born on November 18, 1938, to Clyde and Marguerite (Hicks) Barton. She graduated from Harper Woods High School, class of 1956. Sharon married Vernon Harvey on February 4, 1989, in Almont. Through the years Sharon worked as a secretary for various organizations. Her longest and happiest was as the executive secretary at Almont Hospital, a position she held for 18 years. Sharon was an avid Detroit sports fan – she LOVED the Detroit Tigers, Detroit Lions and the Detroit Red Wings. She enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles. Sharon was a true philanthropist – giving to various charities almost every week. Sharon was a devout Christian. Her family was paramount.

Sharon is survived by her children: Christene (Lavern) Hill of Nokomis, FL, Cathleen (Doug) Jarrett of Fenton, Lisa (George) Dove of Emmett, Wendy (Ben) Walling-Ellison of Apopka, FL; daughter-in-law: Sheri Harvey of Lapeer; 12 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren; one great-great grandbaby and her sister, Myrna Hillis.

Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Harvey; son, Bob Harvey; grandson, Kody Zawalski; grandson in-law, Jeff Fogal as well as her aforementioned parents.

Her funeral service was held Monday, June 23, 2025 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Lapeer. Burial followed the service at West Berlin Cemetery, Allenton.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
