Imlay City, Almont girls’ golf squads compete in pair of BWAC Jamborees 

TRI-CITY AREA — The Imlay City and Almont girls’ golf teams teed it up twice in Blue Water Area Conference action this past week.

Imlay City and Almont began that two-match stretch by pulling up fifth and sixth, respectively, at a jamboree hosted by Lum’s Castle Creek Golf Course on Monday, Sept. 14. 

Armada paced the field with a 201 total. They were followed by Yale (208), Lutheran North (225), Richmond (227), Imlay City (230) and Almont (245). 

Ava Shack led Imlay City with a 53. Alyssa Bruman 55, McKinley Couzens (57) and Adalyn Siegler (65) rounded out the Spartans’ top-four golfers. 

For Almont, Eva Rayl was low with a 56. Piper Steinhaus (59) along with Alexis Redner and Addison Schocke (60 each) supported her performance

Two days later, Imlay City ranked third and Almont shared fifth at a jamboree hosted by Heather Hills Golf Course.

This time it was who Yale won the event with a 193 output. They were followed by Armada (209), Imlay City (211), Lutheran North (216) along with Almont and Richmond (219 each).

North Branch also competed, but did not field a complete squad.

Bruman paced Imlay City with a 48. She was backed by Shack (49), Couzens (51) and Siegler (63).

Rayl led Almont with a 47. Piper Steinhaus (55), Hollyn Murphy (57) and Alivia Hannaford (60) supported her performance.
