Imlay City soccer goes 1-0-1 in BWAC action

IMLAY CITY — The Imlay City boys’ soccer team went 1-0-1 against BWAC foes this past week. 

Imlay City kicked off that two-match stint with a 3-1 win against visiting Yale on Monday, September 14. Benino Barragan (set up by Juan Hernandez), Julian Franco (assisted by Giovani Salcedo) and Franco (set up by Giovani Barragan) provided Imlay City’s goals. Max Galeana got the win in net for Imlay City.

Two days later, Imlay City played host to Lutheran North to a 0-0 outcome.Galeana again drew the goalkeeping assignment for Imlay City. He registered 13 saves.With the decisions, Imlay City improves to 6-1-2 overall and 6-0-1 as far as BWAC clashes are concerned.

Almont falls twice in BWAC action

ALMONT — The Almont boys’ soccer team fell twice in Blue Water Area Conference action this past week. 

Almont opened that two-match stretch with an 8-0 setback to Lutheran North in a clash it hosted on Monday, Sept. 14. Vinny Catenacci drew the goalkeeping assignment for Almont that day.  He finished with eight saves. 

Two days later, Almont dropped a 7-0 road verdict to Cros-Lex.Catenacci and Charlie Glosser shared the goalkeeping responsibilities for Almont. They managed six and five saves, respectively.
