Raiders boys cross country third, Spartans 7th at BWAC Jamboree
The Almont and Imlay City boys’ cross country squads placed third and seventh, respectively, at a Blue Water Area Jamboree hosted by North Branch on Tuesday, Sept. 15.
Yale (55) claimed honors that day. They were followed by North Branch (85 points), Almont (90), Macomb Lutheran North (97), Cros-Lex (98), Armada (126) and Imlay City (129).
Colton Grzyb, eighth, 18:02.24; led Almont that day. He was backed by Benjamin Kline, ninth, 18:02.51; Jamin Siewert, 20th, 19:18.72; Johnny Roland, 25th, 19:34.81; and Sid Davis, 37th, 20:11.7.
Mason Russell, 14th, 18:34.87; paced Imlay City. The Spartans also counted results by Liam Bhatti, 15th, 18:39.07; Sebastian Hoult, 27th, 19:48.54; Will Cilk, 41st, 20:33.45; and Jared Pratt, 52nd, 21:05.62.
Dryden competes at Algonac Muskrat Run
DRYDEN — The Dryden girls’ and boys’ cross country teams tested their endurance skills at the Algonac Muskrat Run on Saturday, Sept. 2.
Claire Wright, eighth, 22:15.53; and Ella Gustner, 11th, 22:37.14; registered Dryden’s quickest clockings. Eliniah Fitchett, 55th, 29:11.22; and Anna Matson, 69th, 33:50.24; also competed for the Cardinals. In the boys’ portion of the meet, Levi Fitchett headlined for Dryden. He took 20th, posting a time of 18:42.83 en route.
Tyler Roberts also represented the Cardinals.
Almont, Imlay City compete at BWAC Jamboree
TRI-CITY AREA — The Almont and Imlay City girls’ cross country squads, both of which fielded four-member contingents (one shy of what was needed to be eligible for team consideration, claimed one top-30 finish each at a Blue Water Area Conference Jamboree hosted by North Branch on Tuesday, Sept. 15.
Taylor Stanczak led Almont that day, pulling up 16th in 22:46.27. Melina Campbell, 31st, 24:54.16; Lillian Eason, 34th, 24:58.05; and Ella Tesluk, 51st, 28:04.45; also represented the Raiders.
Kendal Donahue, 28th, 24:29.57; paced Imlay City. Riley Schlaufman, 32nd, 24:56.67; Savannah Douglas, 53rd, 28:26.32; and Sofia Maldonado, 61st, 30:17.46; also competed for the Spartans.
