Imlay City nets 6-2 win at home
IMLAY CITY — The Imlay City boys’ tennis team claimed a 6-2 win against visiting Cros-Lex in a Blue Water Area Conference meeting last Wednesday.
In individual action, Levi Lengemann netted a 7-6, 6-2 top flight win against Max Noll; Griffin Wetzel secured a 6-0, 6-4 victory over Anderson Levitt at second singles; Drew Schriber registered a 6-0, 6-1 third flight triumph against Evan Cummings; and Joey Nerkowski generated a 6-2, 6-2 win over Parker Shopbell at fourth singles.
In doubles, Trace Dennis and Jeremy Alter fell 6-7, 3-6 by a top flight count to Gabe Young and Paiton Old; Isaac Lindquist and Clark DeClean dropped a 4-6,. 6-4, 5-7 verdict to Carter Young and Brady Old; Sal Fontana and Tristin Detwiler supplied a 6-2, 6-1 third flight victory against Kolten Kucken and Carter Quitter; and Pierce Murray and Max Guerin managed a 6-4, 7-6 triumph over Tyrone Thonton and Elijah Warner Hall.
Almont posts win at Richmond
ALMONT — Almont posted a 6-1 road victory over Richmond in a Blue Water Area Conference boys’ tennis encounter last Friday.
In individual action, Austin Machiniak registered a 6-0, 6-0 second flight triumph; Ethan Stacer obtained a 6-0, 6-0 win at third singles; and Carsen Cooper secured a 6-0, 6-0 fourth flight victory.
Richmond took the top singles flight by default. As far as doubles play was concerned, Michael Stacer and Colin DeCoster earned a 6-2, 6-1 top flight triumph; Eli Bishop and Blake Boyer generated a 6-0, 6-1 win at second doubles; plus Ayden Ferrett and Ty Bradley managed a 6-0, 6-2 third flight victory.
The fourth doubles flight was a double default.
Almont turns back Armada, 4-3
ALMONT— Almont turned back host Armada in a Blue Water Area Conference boys’ tennis matchup last Wednesday.
In individual play, Austin Machiniak gave Almont a 6-1, 6-1 second flight win against Brandon Skurda and Carsen Cooper secured a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Brady Wessel.
Armada took the first and third singles flights by default. As far as doubles action was concerned, Eli Bishop and Blake Boyer provided Almont with a second flight triumph plus the third doubles team of Ty Bradley and Ayden Ferrett were the recipients of a default triumph.
The fourth doubles match was a double default. The top doubles match went to Armada by default.
