Spartans win in an 8-1 rout, tie Notre Dame Prep 

IMLAY CITY — Imlay City turned back host Armada, 8-1, in a Blue Water Area Conference boys’ soccer encounter last Wednesday. 

Juan Hernandez (set up by Benino Barragan), Damian Leon (assisted by Richardo Leon), Hernandez (assisted by Benino Barragan), Benino Barragan (set up by Giovani Barragan), Benino Barragan (assisted by Max Galeana), Julian Franco (set up by Benino Barragan), Hernandez (assisted by Ricardo Leon) and Levi Turrell (set by by Ty Wagester) furnished Imlay City’s goals. Galeana handled the goalkeeping responsibilities for Imlay City, being credited with five saves.

Imlay City also played visiting non-league foe Notre Dame Prep (no. 7, Division 3) to a 1-1 outcome last Thursday. Hernandez (set up by Benino Barragan) had the lone Imlay City goal.

Galeana drew the goalkeeping assignment for Imlay City.  He wound up with seven saves.

Raiders drop home match to North Branch

ALMONT— The Almont boys’ soccer team dropped a 6-1 verdict to visiting North Branch in a Blue Water Area Conference matchup last Wednesday. 

In the matchup, North Branch used a 2-1 first half edge and a 4-0 second half advantage to prevail. Devin Komlosan (unassisted) supplied the lone Almont goal. Vinny Catenacci handled the goalkeeping responsibilities for Almont. He was credited with 11 saves.
