Brian P. Christie, 75

Brian P. Christie went to be with the good Lord on Saturday June 6, 2026 at the VA Medical Health Center in Ann Arbor, MI at the age of 75. Brian was born in Detroit, MI on February 26, 1951 and grew up in the town of Royal Oak, MI, where he went to Shrine High School and graduated in 1969. He also went to college for 2 years before being drafted into the United States Army in 1970. Brian served our country in the Vietnam War from 1971-72. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and the Expert Qualification Badge with Rifle Bar.
Brian was employed in various positions (Sales & Estimating Manager, Accounting Manager, General Manager, Vice President and eventually President and CEO) by Camtrol Coatings Company in Lapeer, MI from 1987 until his retirement in 2000. Early in his career, Brian was employed by: Chrysler Corporation as a Process Engineer, Plant Tooling Engineer and Senior Tool Designer 1973-1981, F. Joseph Lamb Company as a Proposal Manager, Contract Administration Manager and Project Manager 1981-1986 and Lapeer Metal Stamping Company as an Estimating/Tool Engineer Manager 1986-1987.
Brian was a dedicated AA member for over 20 years and loved to help others get sober so he started up an AA meeting in Attica, MI at the Attica Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Lapeer County Sportsmen Club, for many years, where he loved Clay Shooting and visiting with his buddies!
Brian married his best friend, Karen J. Carl (Banning), on July 16, 2005 at the Attica Methodist Church, where a reception followed in the church basement. They were married for almost 21 years and would have gone on for many more but for the fact that cancer took that away and God had other plans.
He is survived by; his wife, Karen Christie of Attica, MI; brother, Leo “Bruce” (Diane) Christie; and sister, Patricia Romer. Brian is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Jason, Colleen, Brian, Ryan, Rachel, Riley, and Reese; and great nieces and nephews, Owen, Dylan, James, Faith and Everly.
Brian was preceded in death by; his parents; Leo and Patricia Christie; and sister, Cathy Goeke.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday June 12 at the Attica Township Cemetery, 4350 Peppermill Rd. in Attica, MI.
