Bonnie Day, 69

Bonnie Day, age 69, recently of Richmond, Michigan died Thursday, April 16, 2026 at McLaren – Macomb Hospital of Mt. Clemens, MI. Bonnie Brenda Smith was born June 7, 1956 in Clarkston, Michigan. She is the daughter of the late Truman Ebenezer and the late Ernestine Alemeda (Wardell) Smith. She grew up in Imlay City and was a member of the Imlay City High School, Class of 1974. She married Dennis Lee Day on December 22, 1972 in Imlay City, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis on September 29, 2021. Since Dennis’ death in 2021, she has lived with her son in Richmond.

Bonnie was a Caregiver at her Adult Foster Care Homes; worked at Casa Maria in Imlay City, and was a homemaker. Bonnie was a hard worker; and helped manage her husband Dennis’ Food Trailer at many Eastern Michigan Fair events. She was a fearless care giver for her beloved family.

Bonnie is survived by: her daughter, Miranda (Zach) Stroup of Yale, MI; her sons: Dennis (Bethany) Day, II of Cleveland, Tennessee, Jason (Janeen) Day of Venice, Florida, Brandon (Jaclyn) Day of Richmond, Michigan; her sisters: Dawn Massey, Deborah Guiliano, Renee Goodell; her brother: Philip Smith; grandchildren: Presley, Piper, Zach Jr., Payton, Kennedy, Judah, Elijah, Devin, Ansley, Braxton; and great-grandchildren: Hadley, Olivia, and Noah.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Day; her parents, Truman and Ernestine Smith; and fourteen brothers and sisters.

The funeral service was held at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 21, 2026 at the Muir Brothers Funeral Home Of Imlay City, 225 N. Main Street, Imlay City, MI.
