Phyllis Ashpole, 86

Phyllis Ashpole, age 86, of Imlay City, Michigan, died Sunday, March 1, 2026 at Serene Gardens Assisted Living of Imlay City, MI. Phyllis Anne LaCrosse was born January 6, 1940 in Detroit, MI. She is the daughter of the late Walter and the late Bessie (Hale) LaCrosse. Phyllis grew up in Roseville, MI. She attended high school at Roseville High School and was a graduate of Eastpointe (formerly East Detroit) High School. Phyllis married Alfred Kriewell on November 30, 1956. She was preceded in death by Alfred in May of 1974. Phyllis married Robert Ashpole on August 3, 1974 in Mt. Clemens, Michigan. She was preceded in death by Robert on March 14, 2020. Phyllis has lived all over the state of Michigan and moved to Imlay City 25 years ago.

Phyllis was employed as a Receptionist by Comerica Bank in Grosse Pointe, MI, for 27 years before retiring in 1995. She was a member of Holy Redeemer Lutheran Church in Dryden, MI. Phyllis enjoyed reading, flower gardening, and R.V. traveling around the United States & Canada.

Phyllis is survived by: her daughter, Valerie (Scott) Schultz of Attica, MI; her son, Craig (Cindy) Kriewell of Phoenix, Arizona; her grandchildren, Kyle (Tina) Schultz, Ryan (Annie) Schultz, Adam (Amanda) Schultz and Drew Schultz; great – grandchildren, Ally, Henry, Oliver, Toby, Charley, Wesley, Waverly and Elowen; and her special nieces, Kathy Hubach and Phyllis Keeney.

Phyllis was preceded in death by: her first husband, Alfred Kriewell; husband, Robert Ashpole; and her sister, Gay Conklin.

The funeral services will be held 12:00 Noon, Monday, March 9, 2026 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City, 225 N. Main Street, Imlay City, MI. Reverend Evan Veen, pastor of Holy Redeemer Lutheran Church of Dryden, will officiate.

The family will be available for visiting hours from 2:00 – 7:00 p.m., Sunday, March 8th and 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 Noon Monday, March 9th at Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City.
