In Loving Memory of Jeffrey Hart

Jeffrey Paul Hart was born June 3rd, 1974 at 5:35 p.m. in Alpena, MI to Russell Hart and Beverly Crevier of Ossineke, MI. From the beginning, Jeffrey carried a quick wit, compassionate care, sharp generosity, and a warmth that was entirely his own. He lit up every room with energy and conversation. If someone wasn’t having a good time, Jeffrey made it his mission to connect them with someone who could.

Jeffrey Hart passed away on Monday, February 9th, 2026, at 3:43 p.m., surrounded by love, memories, peace, friends, phone calls, family, and chosen family. His passing was gentle. He is now at rest and free from pain.

At the center of his world was his beloved husband, Steven Teets—his partner and great love. Married August 9th, 2014, they shared eleven years of marriage and many more of devotion. Together they built a life rooted in authenticity, resilience, laughter, and unwavering commitment.

Jeffrey and Steven were deeply involved in Michigan’s LGBTQIA+ community. Jeffrey and Steven joined ICON Detroit Leather in April 2013 and Alumni’d in August 2023. Through mentorship, advocacy, and preparing titleholders for IML, he helped others carry responsibility with “Hart.” From 2013 to present day, their work helped shape community foundations that endure.

Professionally, Jeffrey touched the lives of countless patients and helped foster a welcoming, trusted environment at A Comprehensive Dermatology alongside Dr. Zarka in Lapeer, Michigan. He proudly served as the Mohs technologist in the treatment of skin cancer and as the office manager, bringing skill, dedication, and heartfelt compassion to his work each day. He will be deeply missed by his patients, coworkers, and the entire Lapeer community. Jeffrey also supported Steven’s 35-year photography business, “Somewhere in Time Photography,” which later transformed into a consignment shop in downtown Imlay City. His care, detail, and grace defined every role he held.

Jeffrey embraced growth, sobriety, accountability, and self-respect with strength and courage. He defended the LGBTQIA+ community fiercely and loved without apology. At home, he hosted unforgettable dinners, organized benefits, cherished bonfires, and adored cuddling with his Cocker-Doodle “Jaxx” (5yrs), now reunited in spirit with his late Cava-Pooh “Bella” (14yrs).

He is survived by his husband Steven Teets of Imlay City; sister Jennifer Domrase (Chad McNeal) of Ossineke; Mark Hart of Lewiston; nephews Mark (Nox) Doebler, Jacob Hart, Lane Domrase; niece Breanna Domrase; and great nieces Willow Kiiszewski and Nova Hart.
