Thomas “Tom” Butler, 63

Thomas “Tom” Butler, age 63, of Imlay City, Michigan, passed from this life Tuesday, January 12, 2026 at his home in Imlay City. Thomas Roy Butler was born February 22, 1962 in Detroit, MI. He is the son of the late Gerald and the late Audrey (Davidson) Butler. Tom grew up in Manila, Arkansas. He was a graduate of Manila High School, Manila, Arkansas. Tom attended Arkansas State University after high school. He married Annette Alred on December 15, 1991 in Mt. Clemens, Michigan. Tom and Annette moved to the Imlay City, MI area in 1993. He was preceded in death by his wife, Annette, on February 26, 2019.
He was employed as a Tool and Die Maker for 18 years by DieTech in Imlay City, MI and was currently working as their second shift supervisor.
Tom was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting and fishing. He loved riding motorcycles, classic rock and roll and country music. His proudest accomplishment was his son Jeremy. The two of them loved their time together, especially watching movies.
He is survived by: his son, Jeremy Butler of Imlay City, MI; sisters, Cathy Dishman of Fort Valley, Georgia and Dorothy Sammons of Leachville, Arkansas; and his brother, Jimmie (Charma) Butler of Imlay City, MI; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Tom was preceded in death by: his wife, Annette; parents, Gerald and Audrey Butler; brother, Gary Butler; and his sister, Peggy Butler-Carter; and one nephew.
A memorial service will be held 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City, 225 N. Main Street, Imlay City, MI 48444.
The family will be available for visitation 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. at Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City. Reverend Dave Forsberg from Imlay City First Congregational Church United Church of Christ will officiate.
