Armando G. Diaz, 86

Armando G. Diaz, age 86, of Imlay City, Michigan, died Saturday, January 17, 2026 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Armando was born December 5, 1939 in Seguin, Texas. He is the son of the late Thomas and the late Florencia (Granado) Diaz. He grew up in the Memphis and Capac, MI areas. Armando attended Memphis High School. He married Dolores Rendon on December 17, 1960 at Winnebago, Minnesota. Dolores died in February, 2025. They had lived in Imlay City, MI for 55 years.

Armando was a Foundry Worker at Pontiac Motors Corporation in Pontiac. After retirement, he worked for Saunders Construction Co.; pouring concrete footings for basements.

Armando is survived by: his children, Elizabeth Diaz, Christino Diaz, Lydia (Paul) Saunders, Lucia Diaz, Jessie Sanchez, Armando (Karen) Diaz and Michael Diaz; sisters, Rita Diaz and Penny (Quinton) Walters; and his brothers: Rick Diaz, Manuel (Cheryl) Diaz, Augustine Diaz and Louie (Maria) Diaz. He is also survived by: 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Armando was preceded in death by: his wife, Dolores, in February 2025; parents, Thomas & Florencia Diaz; his brother, Thomas Diaz; and his sisters, Carmen Hernandez, Viviana Diaz, and Gloria Diaz.

A Mass of Catholic burial will be held 10:30 a.m., Friday, January 23, 2026 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 700 Maple Vista, Imlay City, MI with Reverend Fr. Charles Altermatt officiating. Interment will follow in Imlay Township Cemetery.

The family will be available for visitation 2-5 and 6-8 p.m., Thursday, January 22 at the Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City, 225 N. Main Street, Imlay City, MI and from 10:00 – 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 23 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 700 Maple Vista, Imlay City, MI.
