John Jasso, 78

John Jasso, age 78, of Imlay City, Michigan died Friday, December 19, 2025 at his home. John Richard Jasso was born January 3, 1947 in Pontiac, MI. He is the son of the late Michael and the late Zora (Thorpe) Jasso. John grew up in Troy, MI. He graduated in 1965 beside his beautiful bride, Brenda York. They married on January 16, 1965 in Ferndale, Michigan. They spent 40 years in the Clarkston, MI area, 12 years in Skidway Lake, MI and just recently had moved to the Imlay City area. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Brenda Gail (York) Jasso, on September 1, 2025.

John was self-employed for most of his life – owning, J.R. Jasso Maintenance, JEMS (Jasso Environmental Maintenance), and JR Jasso Welding. Once his kids and grandkids were older, John and Brenda owned Contractors Hose & Supply where John made it a family business that his whole family worked at and enjoyed. John was a family man and enjoyed his wife, kids, and grandkids.

John is survived by: his daughter, Wendy (Michael) Bell of Imlay City, MI; grandchildren, John R. Jasso of Flint, MI, Jacob R. Jasso of Ortonville, MI, and Joshua R. Jasso of Ortonville, MI; and his great – grandchildren, Aliazaiah, Amber Barbara Dunn and Jaliyah Leeann Dunn. He is also survived by: his brother, James (Janet) Jasso of Dayton, TN; sister, Katherine Thompson of Yale, MI; brother-in-law, Lonni “Buster” (Janice) York, Jr. of Roseville, MI; and his sister-in-laws, Donna Fons of Waterford, MI, Debbie (Jim) Van Dyke of Utica, MI, and Toni Jasso of Florida.

He was preceded in death by: his wife, Brenda; sons, Jesse Jasso and John Lonnie Jasso; his daughter, Heidi Margaret Jasso; granddaughter, Amber Gail Bell; his brothers, Frank (Linda) Jasso, Joseph (Martha) Jasso, and Mike Jasso; sister, Susan Daugherty; and his brother-in-law, Joseph Fons.

The memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 10, 2026 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City, 225 N. Main Street, Imlay City, MI 48444. Pastor Dan Pardington with Gateway Assembly church will officiate.

The family will be available for visitation 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 10, 2026 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City.
