LaVerne Ferrett, 94

LaVerne Ferrett, age 94, of Imlay City, Michigan passed away peacefully on December 11, 2025 at home surrounded by family. LaVerne was born June 7, 1931 to parents Albert and Velma (Hollenbeck) Ferrett. He attended Flansburg Country School and finished his GED while serving in the United States Army.

He married Joyce Ennis on June 18, 1955 and celebrated 70 years of marriage in 2025.

Throughout his lifetime, LaVerne worked at Ford Motor Company, was a certified welder at several local businesses, operated a dairy farm, and worked as a crop insurance adjuster before his retirement.

LaVerne enjoyed collecting rocks, vacationing up north, word searches and bird watching. He especially liked to spend time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by: his wife, Joyce; and his children, Janet Ferrett of Lake Orion, MI, Allan Ferrett of Dryden, MI, Larry Ferrett of Memphis, Tennessee, Lloyd (Annette) Ferrett of Imlay City, MI, Jane (Jack) Bostian of Imlay City, MI, Julianne (Keith) Kent of Metamora, MI and Joy (Robert) Schriber of Lapeer, MI. He is also survived by: 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one on the way; sisters, Kathy Burgess of Lapeer, MI and Sharon (Sam Pennisi) Ferrett of Arcada, California; and his brother, Jim Ferrett of Troy, MI.

The Funeral Service was held Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at Goodland Community Church, 2008 N. Van Dyke, Imlay City, MI. A luncheon followed. Interment took place in Imlay Township Cemetery.
