Betty Martin, 93

Betty Martin, age 93, of Dryden, Michigan died Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at McLaren Lapeer Region Hospital. Betty Jane Green was born February 6, 1932 in Fremont, OH. She is the daughter of the late Ernest and the late Nettie (Nesbitt) Green. Betty grew up in Fremont and attended Fremont High School. She married Ray Martin on July 28, 1950 in Gibsonburg, Ohio. Betty and Ray had lived in the Almont and Dryden areas since 1968. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray on February 7, 2017.

She worked as a nurse’s aide at Almont Community Hospital. Betty loved to volunteer at animal shelters and humane societies. She was involved with several charities. She enjoyed driving her convertible, traveling and going boating on Lake Erie. She loved the water. Betty liked to play games, do puzzles, and rescue animals, especially cats. She loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren. She had a heart of gold, was always there to help whenever she felt it was needed and never asked for anything in return.

Betty is survived by: her daughters, Deborah (Clyde) Caron of Dryden, MI and Denise Marzetti of Imlay City, MI; son, Bruce (Kay) Martin of Leonard, MI; her daughter-in-law, Kathleen Martin of Port St. Lucie, FL. She is also survived by: 9 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

Betty was preceded in death by: her husband, Ray; granddaughter, Danielle Mae Caron; her son, Douglas George Martin; daughter, Julie Ann Martin; her parents, Ernest and Nettie Green; sisters, Alice, Ruth, Rosie, and Patricia; and her brother, Cliff.

A memorial service was held Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City, 225 N. Main Street, Imlay City, MI. Reverend Sharon Smith of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church officiated.
