Rachel Delilah Eakes, 89

Rachel Delilah Eakes, 89, of Berlin, passed away with her family by her side on Wednesday, July 10, 2024.

Rachel was born in Philadelphia, MS on April 3, 1935, to the late DeWitt and Luva (nee Jenkins) Eakes.

She enjoyed listening to music and cooking for her family. Rachel loved children and spending time with her family. She is known for a long phone call with several good byes. Rachel was a member of the Red Hat Society and a longtime member of West Berlin United Methodist Church.

Rachel is survived by her children, Bob (Michelle) Pilgrim, Dan (Kathleen) Pilgrim and Clyde (Jaime) Pilgrim; grandchildren, Dan (Christina), Darren (Sara), Tracey (Doug), Josh (Amber), Jessica (Marty), Vanessa, Joe, Jamie Rae (Brad), Lauren, Haley and Abby; 25 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; companion and best friend Jim Montney; siblings Ann, Jo Merle and Larry. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.

She is predeceased by her grandson Derik and siblings Lucy, Billie, Don, Linda and Karen.

The family invites all who knew and loved Rachel to join them in honoring her memory. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 22, 2024, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Kaatz Funeral Directors, Capac. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at 11 a.m. with 10 a.m. visiting at Kaatz Funeral Directors, Capac. Burial will follow at West Berlin Cemetery.
