Mayo “Buck” Krumenaker, 95

Mayo “Buck” Krumenaker, age 95, of Imlay City, MI, died Sunday, July 7, 2024, at Stonegate Health Campus of Lapeer, MI. Mayo Walter Krumenaker was born August 13, 1928, in Ann Arbor, MI. He is the son of the late Ernest and the late Clara (Pulcer) Krumenaker. Buck grew up in Argyle, MI. He attended Argyle School. At the age of 17, Buck proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1948-1949. Thereafter, he joined the Merchant Marines and sailed around the world. He married Betty Ann Ploetz on August 23, 1952. in Romeo, MI.

Buck was employed as a Painter by Ford Motor Company at the Romeo Proving Grounds for 30 years before retiring in 1985. He painted interiors of homes for people as a side venture. After retiring, he delivered flowers for a number of years for a local florist.

Buck loved his family, enjoyed working outdoors, and tinkering with old cars. Growing up on a farm, Buck created a hobby farm on his property in Imlay City. His most notable sense of humor made him a popular conversationalist.

He is survived by his daughters, Anita (Ricardo) Bowden of Bay City, MI, Rosanne Diem of Fort Gratiot, MI, Mona Hernandez of Lapeer, MI and Gaye (Juan) Orduna of Imlay City, MI; grandchildren, Jennifer, Nolan, Rebecca, Marion, Christopher, Julianne, Paul, Heather, Juan, Francisco, Avelina, Raul and Raquel; and several great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Ann; his parents, Ernest and Clara Krumenaker; and his eight siblings.

The family will be available for visitation 2-5 & 6-8, Thursday, July 11, 2024, at Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City, 225 N. Main Street, Imlay City, MI.

A Veteran’s Salute will take place at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 11. Interment will take place Friday, July 12, 2024, at Imlay Township Cemetery.
