Notice is hereby given there will be a public hearing before the Almont Township Zoning Board of Appeals on Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at the Almont Township Hall, 819 N. Main Street, Almont, Michigan 48003, beginning at 7:00 p.m.
The purpose of the hearing is to consider a variance request from Megan and James McAfee of 4989 Bishop Road (44-001-019-022-01): SEC 19 T6N R12E BEG AT THE SW COR OF SEC 19, TH N 87 DEG 11’10” E 352.86 FT, THN 0 DEG 08’37” W 247.25 FT, TH S 87 DEG 11’10” W 352.66 FT, TH S 0 DEG 05’46” E 247.26 FT TO THE POB. 2.0 A
The property in question is zoned Agricultural-Residential. The variances requested are from Zoning Ordinance 39, as amended, Article 2, Section 2.3 .C – detached accessory building shall not be erected in any required or non-required front yard, E – Non detached accessory building or structure shall be located closer that 15 feet to any principal building, nor shall it be located closer that fifteen feet to any side or any rear lot line; and Article 8 , Section 8.9 – setback requirements from road right-of-way. All documents pertaining to said application will be available for inspection at the Township Hall on Mondays thru Thursdays between 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will be available at the time and place of the meeting. All interested citizens will be given an opportunity to comment on this application. Written comments may be submitted up to the time of the meeting at the Township Hall located at 819 N. Main Street, Almont, MI 48003.
