Imlay City volleyball posts 2-1 mark

IMLAY CITY — The Imlay City varsity volleyball team posted a 2-1 mark in a non-league quad it hosted on Tuesday, Sept. 1. 

Imlay City started things off with a 25-13, 25-20 win against Ubly. That was followed by a 25-9, 25-14 victory over Lake Fenton; and a 21-25, 22-25 loss to Cass City. Mia Zepeda (19), Evelyn Robertson (17) and Mia-Ann Grapentin (11) notched the highest Imlay City kill totals. 

Kendall Jones handled the bulk of Imlay City’s playmaking responsibilities. She managed 29 set assists. Lyla Russell (11), Zepeda and Jones (seven each) and Robertson (three) registered Imlay City’s digs. 

Grapentin (four) plus Robertson and Zepeda (one apiece) contributed to Imlay City’s blocks. Russell (three) and Grapentin (one) added Imlay City’s ace serves.

Dryden falls in three games

DRYDEN — The Dryden varsity volleyball team fell 10-25, 6-25, 12-25 to host Genesee Christian in a non-league confrontation on Tuesday, Sept. 1. 

No individual game stats were available. Dryden will look to bounce back on Wednesday, Sept. 8 when it entertains Kingston. 

That matchup lists a 7 p.m starting time.
