75th annual National Day of Prayer

Dear Editor,

There will be a national day of prayer event in our community on Thursday, May 7. People will gather across the nation to pray!

The National Day of Prayer is an annual observance held on the first Thursday of every May, inviting people to come together on the same day in their community and pray.

A day of prayer was set aside by the continental Congress in 1775. In 1952, Congress established an annual day of prayer, and in 1988 it was designated to be on the first Thursday of every May.

This year will be the 75th annual National Day of Prayer and the theme this year is 1 Chronicles 16:24, “Tell of His glory among the nations, His wonderful deeds among all peoples.”

All are invited to come, starting at 6:30 p.m. to join at the Imlay City Christian Reformed Church, 395 North Cedar St.

There will be several community and church leaders praying for our community, state and nation!

Please come and join us as we gather together to worship, pray, and encourage one another in the Lord!

What a privilege it is to pray as a local body of believers together!
