Letter to the Editor: In response to ‘Officials hold Capac Main Street ground breaking’

It was good to read that the Village of Capac officials joined with U.S. Rep. Lisa McClain for the Main Street groundbreaking occasion.

McClain’s securing of the $1.5 million of congressionally directed spending for the village was smart federal governance in action.

Hopefully, McClain’s next congressionally funded project will be to help dress up downtown Imlay City.

I personally feel there is a lot of positive potential for the small downtown area many of us frequent on a regular basis.

I understand that an Imlay City streetscape project is now underway. It would also be a wise idea to have modest federal government funding appropriated to paint the town and offer federal subsidies in the effort to fully lease the many empty storefronts.
