Spartan trap team enjoys success

Dear Editor,

I’d like to take a minute and bring attention to a new team that is making great strides and has the promise to go a long way.

The Imlay City Clay Target Team has just finished their third season. This team was formed in spring of 24.

They started with skeet only in the spring. The Trap team started in the fall. Both disciplines were participating this spring.

Their season is five weeks long. In just 15 short weeks combined, they have been able to raise more than $3500.00 for two different causes.

One being the Susan G. Komen in October with more than $1800.00 and this spring was the Wounded Warrior Project with more than $1700.00 raised.

On top of that amazing accomplishment, this spring the Skeet Team came in fourth in their conference.

The Trap Team has placed first in their conference and have not only been invited to States, but also Nationals which are held in Mason, MI.

The Trap Team has three in the top ten in the conference and five in the top twenty-five in the conference.

This sport and this team has shown so much progress and their drive is compared to none. They understand what practice and grit gets them and they also understand how to be an active member in our community.

The coaches and team Mom have instilled a good set of values that these kids have taken to heart.

Whether it’s cleaning up the ranges they practice at or the other teams range, or making sure they leave their spaces better than they found it each meet, they know what it means to be a team.
