Bids will be accepted for the following category: Concrete Paving – Football Complex
Exterior Concrete:
a. Approximately 16,766 sq. ft.
b. 4″ thick, 4,000 psi limestone mix, air entrained concrete
c. Light broom finish
d. 10 gauge welded wire fabric reinforcement throughout.
e. Gray vinyl expansion between pours
f. Hand Tooled Control Joints approximately 10’x10′ squares
g. Include a $3,500.00 allowance in pricing for overhead pumping
h. Fine grading and compaction to be included in pricing.
i. Include a $2,500.00 allowance in pricing for additional grading if necessary
j. Include 573′ of asphalt cutting (assume 6″ thick along radius of track to create a flat surface to place concrete against)
k. All concrete abutting track asphalt shall be hand jointed and that joint is to be filled with flowable asphalt filler such as Gold Star Cold Pour Crack Filler #315 or comparable material.
l. Cure and seal shall be applied to all concrete pours per manufacturers specifications.
m. All cleanup work to be completed within 3 business days after final pour.
n. All washout debris to be removed from site by contractor.
Interior Concrete
(Pole Structure):
o. 30’x60″- 1,800 sq. ft.
p. 4″ thick 4,000 psi limestone mix concrete
q. Power trowel finish
r. 10 gauge welded wire fabric reinforcement throughout.
s. Fine Grading/compaction to be included in pricing
t. 2′ of 2″ rigid Foamular NGX 250 insulation to be installed around the perimeter of the structure in sand grade.
u. 6 mill plastic under slab as vapor barrier.
v. Saw cut control joints 10’x10′ squares
w. Expansion material between outside perimeter of the slab and the skirt board.
x. All clean up work to be completed within 3 business days after final pour.
y. All washout debris to be removed from site by contractor.

1. Pricing: Lump sum based on quantity above for both interior and exterior work with a unit price per square foot for exterior concrete.
2. Timing: Work to be completed by June 13 assuming a May 12 or earlier award date weather permitting.
3. Payment: 30 days from date of completion and acceptance by Client.
4. Site is located on a school campus — jobsite must be kept clean and safe at all times.
Insurance Coverage:
Prior to beginning work and for the duration of the contract, the selected firm will be required to provide a copy of insurance certificates for the following insurance types and amounts:
1. Commercial General liability of $1,000,000 with general aggregate of $2,000,000, Automobile liability of $1,000,000, Workers’ Compensation of $1,000,000, and Umbrella liability of $3,000,000.
The contractor MUST agree to hold the district harmless and to indemnify the district for losses from contractor negligence.
The parties agree that the School District is not waiving any rights its insurer(s) may have to subrogation. To the extent any term in the Agreement is contrary to this provision, such term is void and unenforceable.
Such insurance shall be secured from an insurance company authorized by law to transact the business of insurance in the State of Michigan. All applicable insurances shall name “Imlay City Community Schools” as an additional insured. The policy shall include a minimum of thirty (30) days’ notification to certificate holders of cancellation, nonrenewal, reduction or change in the policy.
It shall be the contractor’s responsibility to provide similar insurance for each subcontractor or to provide evidence that each subcontractor carries such insurance in like amount prior to the time such subcontractor proceeds to perform under the contract.

Notice is hereby given that sealed bids will be received, opened and read aloud, by Imlay City Community Schools at the Educational Service Center – 634 W. Borland Road, Imlay City, MI 48444 at 1:00 p.m. local time on Monday, May 12, 2025, for the following work: Concrete Paving – Football Complex.
A field visit/walk-through will take place on Thursday, May 8, at 10:00 a.m., or, if you would like to schedule a field visit at another time prior to bid submission, please reach out to Melissa Fleury at 810-724-9861 or mfleury@icschools.us.
Imlay City Community Schools will not consider or accept a proposal received after the above specified date and time for Proposal submission. At the above-specified time the Board of Education, acting by its designee, will publicly open and read all timely-received Proposals. The Board of Education reserves the rights to waive any irregularity or informality in its Request for Proposals (“RFP”) process, to reject any or all Proposals, to award Program components by component, group of components, or total Program, and to accept the Proposal or Proposals which the Board determines will perform in the District’s best interests and will be the lowest responsible bidder as required by law.
