Notice is hereby given there will be a public hearing before the Almont Township Zoning Board of Appeals on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at the Almont Township Hall, 819 N. Main Street, Almont, Michigan 48003, beginning at 7:00 p.m.
The purpose of the hearing is to consider a variance request from John and Tracey Garrison of 6939 Wheatland Drive (44-001-020-028-05), from Zoning Ordinance 39, Article 2, Section 23.E – “No detached accessory building or structure shall be located closer than fifteen (15) feet to any principal building, nor shall it be located closer than fifteen (15) feet to any side or fifteen (15) feet to any rear lot lines”. Granting the variance would allow the property owners to set an accessory building approx. 7 feet closer to the side lot line than what is allowed in the Zoning Ordinance. The property in question is zoned Agricultural/ Residential (Ag/R). All documents pertaining to said variance will be available for inspection at the Township Hall on Tuesdays and Wednesdays between 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will be available at the time and place of the meeting. All interested citizens will be given an opportunity to comment on this application. Written comments may be submitted up to the time of the meeting at the Township Hall located at 819 N. Main Street, Almont, MI 48003.
